Marketing Manager (Click for full description)

DAN is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to join the team. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this position will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations and success of the department. Including planning and organizing trade shows and consumer activation events, managing print and digital advertising schedules, member communications, sponsorship requests, and DAN’s giving campaigns.

The ideal candidate should be organized, detail oriented, and deadline driven. Must have experience managing, tracking, and reporting on tasks using project management software, note-taking, documentation, and the establishment of processes. 

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support a diverse portfolio of membership and insurance products and services is essential. This role is ideal for someone who likes to roll-up their sleeves, take the initiative, and get things accomplished. Working with a small team, each day will bring something different. 


  • Support Director of Marketing by managing critical departmental functions
  • Plan, manage, and execute trade shows and events (domestic and international)
  • Manage print and digital media plan, deadlines, and creative trafficking
  • Coordinate Google Adwords campaigns
  • Assist in the development of print and digital member communications 
  • Assist Multi-Media and Graphic Designer in developing and managing campaign assets
  • Manage giving campaigns and sponsorship requests
  • Expertly manage timelines, milestones and the delivery of critical program elements 
  • Some travel required (10-15%)


  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5-10 years marketing experience
  • Business to Business (B2B) sales and/or marketing experience
  • Trade show planning and implementation experience
  • Advertising calendar/ad trafficking management
  • Project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of advertising mediums, sales collateral development, direct mail and email mail marketing, content marketing
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across different regions, countries, and time-zones
  • Proven project management skills with excellent organization and communication 
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Ability to facilitate group discussion and develop effective working relationships with senior level management and staff
  • Execution focused with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (not required, but a plus)

  • Insurance or scuba diving background 
  • Advanced degree in Business or Marketing (MBA, MA, MS)
  • PMP certification 
  • Ad agency experience 
  • Experience in digital marketing and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience working with compliance, regulatory, or legal departments 


  • This position requires frequent typing/keyboarding (50-60% of time) and constant sitting (60-75% of time).
  • Occasional lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, bending/squatting and standing/walking as necessary. (primarily for trade show preparation and execution)

Customer Relations / Insurance Agent (Click for full description)

Our membership organization is seeking a full-time insurance agent to join our Member Services team. Reporting to the manager of membership & personal insurance, this person will play a critical role in providing access to different insurance plans to meet the individual needs of DAN members.

Working as part of a team, the agent must maintain a high standard of customer service while effectively responding to questions and providing program details through phone calls and emails. The candidate will be able to work within deadlines and have good problem-solving skills. A key attribute for this role is the ability to troubleshoot and provide support to members while providing a high level of customer service.


  • Promptly respond to daily incoming calls, voicemails, mail, and email correspondence
  • Accurately and clearly explain membership and personal insurance policy benefits and retail products
  • Provide data entry support for DAN Member Services, including entry of new and renewing membership information, processing of online applications and product orders, and problem-solving/troubleshooting data entry processing
  • Enroll and/or renew members, complete product orders, track member orders, and update member records
  • Act as a liaison between the organization, its members, and the general public in support of the organization’s mission and goals
  • Provide data for internal reports
  • Represent the organization at trade shows, conventions, and symposiums as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Three or more years of providing customer service in a call center environment or other relevant customer service experience
  • Good business writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

  • Licensed in the state of North Carolina as an agent for life, health, property, and casualty insurance; equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered

Database Administrator (Click for full description)

Customize, maintain and develop data solutions to meet the company needs, and work on building our proprietary software built on the .Net/MS SQL framework.

You will be required to understand the functionality of all existing data structure as well as independently develop new features and integrations into the existing platform.


  • Recommend data solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications.
  • Install revised or new database systems by proposing specifications; recommending ideal access techniques; coordinating installation requirements.
  • Design, implement, and maintain high availability databases in accordance with end project’s needs and views
  • Define users, and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner
  • Maintain database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.
  • Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
  • Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
  • Develop reports based on end users’ needs


  • Proven working experience as a MSSQL 2000 and higher Database administrator
  • Excellent knowledge with relational database design, documentation and coding
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
  • Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools
  • Familiarity with programming SSRS
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics a plus.

  • BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification
