September 2, 2020 marks the one-year anniversary of the fire aboard the M/V Conception that claimed the lives of 34 divers. To honor these souls, an underwater memorial stone was placed at the site of the tragedy off the coast of Santa Cruz Island, California, USA on August 31, 2020.

These courses, designed by DAN’s risk mitigation and training experts, offer those who put divers in the water an opportunity to refine the safety of their operations.

This year’s campaign asks divers to envision what diving would be like without DAN’s trusted services such as its 24-hour emergency hotline, medical information line and dive safety resources.
DURHAM, NC – December 18, 2019 – Divers and dive industry organizations have raised US$220,961 for the families who lost loved ones in the Conception disaster. Thirty-four divers perished when the vessel caught fire on September 2 in California’s Channel Islands. One hundred percent of the money raised will be given to the victims’ families.
