DAN Launches “Every Diver” Campaign Featuring Member Testimonials

DURHAM, NC – October 28, 2024 – Divers Alert Network® (DAN®) has announced the launch of its new “Every Diver” marketing campaign. Designed to promote DAN membership by raising awareness of the organization’s safety programs and its proven track record of helping divers, the campaign features compelling storytelling by DAN members from every corner of the dive industry. Each member has a unique story, but they share a common bond: Year after year, they all put their trust in DAN’s medical, safety, research, and insurance services.

“Our ‘Every Diver’ campaign is not about an individual, or one segment of the industry,” said DAN director of marketing Steve Jamroz. “Students, dive pros, explorers, freedivers, underwater photographers, technical divers, public safety divers, recreational divers, and rebreather divers can all benefit from having DAN on their side.”

Six months in the making and featuring a diverse group of divers and medical professionals, the integrated marketing campaign was filmed on both coasts of the United States. In March of this year, DAN’s media team interviewed more than a dozen members in Secaucus, New Jersey, and in the summer another dozen in California. Los Angeles-based sports and celebrity photographer Erik Isakson was contracted to create iconic portraits of the members. DAN also solicited photographs and testimonials from members through open casting calls and received nearly 1,000 responses. 

“Our members have been so enthusiastic about participating in this campaign,” said DAN director of communications Brian Harper. “I think that demonstrates a real commitment to their own safety and the safety of divers everywhere. Our members believe in our mission, and they’ve given us an authentic way to promote it.” 

“When a diver becomes a DAN member, it doesn’t just benefit them — the whole industry becomes stronger and safer,” said DAN president and CEO Bill Ziefle. “Membership opens channels of communication that allow us to reach the diver with educational messages and practical knowledge to enhance their safety. And we reinvest membership dues to fund our research and other dive safety initiatives. It’s a win for everyone.”

Beginning in November, the campaign will be featured across print, digital, and social media channels throughout the dive industry.
