TRAVEL SMARTER

WHEN YOU NEED IT MOST, DAN will be here to help. We coordinate emergency evacuations and cover the costs for our members up to US$500,000 per person. Every DAN member is entitled to these emergency services as well as travel, medical, legal, and personal assistance.

When you are traveling more than 50 miles from home and need assistance — whether it’s help with a prescription, a cash advance, translation services, or a medical evacuation, all you have to do is call the DAN Emergency Hotline at +1-919-684-9111, and we’ll arrange the help you need.

For a life-threatening emergency, first contact local emergency medical services (EMS) or get the injured person to the nearest medical facility. It is critical to ensure the person is stable and a medical professional assesses their condition. After contacting EMS, call DAN at +1-919-684-9111 for additional assistance or for a consultation with the local medical provider.

When you call the DAN Emergency Hotline you will be asked for your name, location, and callback number. If you are a DAN member, please provide your DAN member number as well. DAN medics may make an immediate recommendation or ask to call you back after making arrangements. They may reach out to their provider network for the best possible assistance.

If the call drops, we will immediately call you back at the phone number you provided. If you don’t hear from us in minutes, try calling back. Remember to dial the country code (+1) when calling the U.S. from another country.

The DAN Emergency Hotline receives an average of 5,200 calls per year. DAN medics are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to assist divers and medical personnel in managing dive emergencies. No matter where they are or what they are doing, these dedicated medical professionals answer the call. AD
