DURHAM, NC – May 12, 2026 – Divers Alert Network® (DAN®), the dive industry’s safety organization and professional liability insurance provider, has launched Continuing Education for Dive Professionals – Course 3: Barotrauma Legal Drama. This new, free course is now available through DAN E-Learning.
Barotrauma Legal Drama follows a fictional ear barotrauma incident from open water training through a legal deposition, showing how an instructor’s decisions and documentation could be scrutinized in a lawsuit. The course combines a cinematic narrative with commentary from DAN’s safety and legal experts.
To encourage participation, DAN is offering discounted premiums on individual professional liability and group professional liability insurance to DAN members who complete the free e-learning.* Members who complete the course are eligible to receive a discount of approximately 5% on their annual liability policy; this is in addition to the 5% discount that DAN members already receive.
