DAN is seeking volunteer divers for a study titled Inter- and Intrasubject Variability in Postdive Venous Gas Emboli — also known as “the DAN bubble study.” Dives for this study will take place at Mystery Lake Scuba Park in Wendell, North Carolina, every Saturday from March 23, 2024, through September 5, 2024.
To participate you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be able to participate for a minimum of 7 Saturdays within a 3-month period between March and September
- Hold the equivalent of an Advanced Open Water certification or higher
- Have completed 50 or more dives, including dives to 100 feet in dark/low-visibility conditions
- Submit a completed “fit to dive” form (LINK)
- Submit proof of current dive accident insurance
